About the Road to Hāna Adventure
Embark on the Road to Hāna, a route famed as one of the most spectacular drives worldwide! The renowned Hāna highway connects with the Piilani highway on the leeward side of Haleakala, a towering presence standing tall at 10,023 feet above sea level. Behold awe-inspiring views of the pristine blue ocean on one side (makai side) and vast volcanic plains or lush foliage on the other (mauka side). The highway meanders around 50 one-lane bridges and weaves through stunning ocean cliffs, evoking a state of sheer bliss (even for car-sick-prone travelers).
Experience adventure like never before with our Road to Hāna Adventure Tour. This tour is not just about Hāna Town itself, but the entire journey towards it and beyond. We'll take you through the rich history of pre-contact Hawaii, the days of the Piilani ohana, the reign of King Kamehameha, the arrival of Captain Cook, and the post-western contact consequences. You will see how old Hawaii still exists today as a blend of ancient Hawaiian and Polynesian traditions with modern Western culture. Let us be your guide on this momentous journey.
