The Hana Highway is one of the most notable drives in the world. With pristine blue ocean on one side the highway crosses more than 50 one-lane bridges and winds around magnificent cliffs which guide even the car-sick prone traveler into a state of sheer bliss.
This trip takes adventure to another level! Before succumbing to the lure of the Hana Highway, a hot gourmet breakfast is served at Ho'okipa beach where you'll enjoy breathtaking views of one of the best surf spots on the island. Once on the road to Hana your naturalist will brief you on the exotic floral splendor which you will see along the way. Periodic stops will be made at some roadside waterfalls and you will come face-to-face with Maui's pure tropical beauty.
The first major stop can be at the Pi'ilanihale Heiau where you will learn about the great chief Pi'ilani and the anicent legend of the breadfruit tree. This history lesson will be followed by a short (optional) walk along the cliffs at Wai'anapanapa and a visit in Hana town where you see Ka'-ahu-manu's birth place and enjoy a gourmet lunch along the way.
